Comic Summary: Sitting atop a tall building in Genosha while holding Luna in his arms, Fabian Cortez watches fires spread across the city beneath him. Elsewhere, in Washington D.C., three government officials discuss the declining situation in the war between the Genoshan army and the mutate population. Val Cooper tells Gyrich to escort a diplomat to Genosha and, while he does that, Nick Fury will contain the Avengers, so they don’t get involved in Genoshan affairs. Nick Fury goes to the Avengers mansion and explains to them what has been transpiring in Genosha. Also, he tells them to not get involved. While Fury talks to the Avengers, Gyrich heads towards Xavier’s Mansion to try to talk Xavier into coming to Genosha with him. Xavier agrees to go but only if one of his own associates can go with them as well. Gyrich questions who it is and, in answer, the Beast tumbles into the room. Back at the Avengers mansion, Crystal figures out why Fury does not want the Avengers to go to Genosha, when her child Luna is discovered to be a Mutate from Genosha, who has disguised herself as Luna. The Mutate is a living bomb, who blows herself up, trying to kill some of the Avengers along with her. Luckily, Crystal saves them and the Avengers head towards the Hangar Bay to leave towards Genosha. Shockingly, as soon as they reach the Hangar Bay, they are greeted by hundreds of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, determined to stop them. Before Xavier leaves the mansion, he telepathically commands the other X-Men to travel in the Blackbird to Genosha. He will meet them in twelve hours. While on the plane to Genosha, Gyrich receives a telecommunication from the island nation with shockin news; Cortez has assassinated the entire Genoshan government.

Fun Facts: This is part of the X-Men/Avengers crossover, Bloodties.
Comic Summary: Hovering near Genosha, the Hellicarrier carries a few Avengers and the military might of S.H.I.E.L.D. to the conflict below. In their way is a large psi-shield that seems to be, so far, impenetrable. A man named Exodus is responsible for the psi-shield and, under his impenetrable dome, he prepares to slay one of his greatest enemies. Cortez, threatening to harm his young charge, Luna, if Exodus is not defeated, puts her parents in a vile predicament. Helping them make their decision, Exodus telekinetically removes Luna from Cortez’s grasp and kills him for his disobedience. Above Exodus, on the streets of Genosha, the X-Men are in the midst of rescuing hundreds of tormented humans. While the X-Men stop to talk to Trish Tilby, the Avengers come onto the scene looking for their lost teammates Crystal and the Scarlet Witch. After the two teams check out the forcefield surrounding the Island, Xavier contacts them via telepathy and demands them to come to his aid. The teams leave to help the Professor. Thankfully freeing the Mutates and stopping the Genoshan army becomes a much easier task, once they arrive to help their outnumbered friends. While the X-Men and Avengers are distracted elsewhere, Exodus takes his hostages and they head off to meet the Avengers/X-Men. After escaping the concentration camps the X-Men are forced to face off against Exodus or see all the humans’ in Genosha slaughtered. While one team stops the Mutates’ from wholesale murder, the other team takes on Exodus. Ending the battle, the Black Knight, along with Xavier, attacks him, knocking him unconscious and to the ground. After a brief but powerful speech by Xavier to the Mutates’ in Genosha, Exodus awakens and flies off, psi-blasting Quicksilver and leaving him for dead. Quickly, the Black Knight helps to revive Pietro and, in tears, Crystal thanks him for his help. After the fighting is over, the next day, Charles Xavier and Captain America watch as the Hellicarrier delivers the needed supplies to help the Genoshan people. Comic Summary: Wanda Maximoff remembers her life as the Scarlet Witch and has regained her powers. Conjuring up Kree ships and Ultron robots, she begins to explain how she blamed the Avengers for the deaths of her twin sons, so she started that events of Avengers Disassembled to send all their sins back at them. Hawkeye, Jessica Jones and Beast then turn, shocked that history may be repeating itself. Jones comments that the Young Avengers found Wanda where no one else could. However, Beast admits that he found Wanda first and had tea; Hawkeye confesses to sleeping with her. Everyone then becomes shocked at the reappearance of Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man. Wiccan then explains to the newly arrived heroes that the Wanda they met in Transia was actually a Doombot. Everyone notices that Wanda has lined up the Kree ships and Ultrons to attack her. They intervene, as Wiccan, with Stature's help (who reveals to her father about having stolen Pym particles from him), to get through to Wanda. He tells her that the Vision is back and that he and Speed are the reincarnations of her sons. Wanda apologizes for not recognizing him and stops. Speed is hesitant to reconcile with her, given that she did cause M-Day and murdered her friends. Hawkeye calls the other Avengers, informing them of Wanda's rediscovery; Quicksilver is jittery to speak with his sister. When Iron Man hears about Scott, he orders Hawkeye to ensure that no one leaves the grounds of Avengers Mansion. Speed fears that when the Avengers arrive, they will kill Wanda to prevent her from causing anymore damage. Hawkeye defends that murder is not the way of the Avengers. Wiccan counters how Wolverine is intent on murdering Wanda. However, Beast suggests that if Wanda depowered most of the world's mutants, then she could undo it, but only for volunteers. Jones calls in X-Factors so they could locate all the former mutants who've been in contact with them. X-Factor is hesitant to help, given the last bit of "help" Quicksilver tried to provide with Terrigen crystals that temporarily restored powers to mutants until they couldn't take the strain and exploded. X-Factor turns to leave, but Wanda stops them, insisting that she's only wanting to reverse what she had done. Madrox counters that once everyone hears that she's alive and caused M-Day, every mutant will be out for blood on her. Rictor volunteers to be a guinea pig, believing that he must have his powers back. Wanda succeeds in giving Rictor back his powers, evidenced by the entire building shaking. Madrox congratulates Wanda to repowering Wanda, but adds that there are a million more former mutants to help. Strong Guy then takes notice that the X-Men have arrived. Wanda decides to go out and help them grant more mutants.

Wiccan insists that's not the case but Iron Lad reasons that the Avengers are afraid of him. He then opens a time portal to save Cassie. Wiccan warns him that by taking this path, he will become Kang the Conqueror. Iron Lad says he'll be better and disappears. Colossus and Spider-Man after they could try and pursue Iron Lad. However, the Scarlet Witch insists that everyone focus on her, to which Wiccan and Speed add that they too should be included. Magneto insists that they should blame Doom. Cyclops states that even if Doom was telling the truth, that the Scarlet Witch was being controlled, that doesn't change the fact that she destroyed mutant-kind. However, he agrees that executing her would not solve anything and instead lets her live so she can atone for her crimes. As the X-Men depart, Rogue tells Wanda that he'll come around, they all will. Cap attempts to reinvite the Scarlet Witch back into the Avengers but she refuses. However, Madrox tells her that she will rejoin the team when the next crisis comes along. Wanda says that she will be too busy redeeming herself. She then embraces Wonder Man, who tells her that she should not rejoin the Avengers before leaving. Magneto and Quicksilver insists she come with them but she tells them that she needs some time along. She then consoles her sons and Scott. The Young Avengers then discuss restoring the Vision, even though it'd be impossible with 30th century tech. Kate tells them all that even though the Vision is backed up on hard drive, they shouldn't bring him back just to tell him Cassie's dead. She only hopes that they are at peace wherever they are. Speed then asks whether the Young Avengers will continue. However, Patriot decides it's over, for they nearly got all the mutants re-powered. He announces his decision to return home to his mother in Scottsdale. Kate agrees to leave too, considering all the mistakes she's made. Wiccan also agrees with the Avengers' assessment that he's a danger. With Speed unwilling to go solo hero, Hulkling encourages him to try and live a normal live. For months, the Young Avengers sit on the sidelines as major events go by, such as Spider-Island, Avengers vs. X-Men, and the return of the Human Torch. Soon enough, Hulkling asks Wiccan if they're going to continue being ex-heroes and refuses to leave his side. They then share a kiss, before Ms. Marvel interrupts, as the Young Avengers (excluding Patriot) are summoned to Avengers Mansion. Cap acknowledges their accomplishments, such as finding the Scarlet Witch, defeating Doc Doom and somehow diffuse their conflict with the X-Men. He then shows them outside, where statues of Cassie and Vision have been erected alongside Scott's, and he tells them that they all will be known as Avengers.
