Alphonse hears the news that ALL the X-men are in town and are after the Inficio Aquilus tarot cards, and in fear he returns the cards to Remy to save himself.

Character Summary The Antiquary was the head of one of the older clans of the Thieves guild. He collects children and holds a large library of information on the Old Kingdom. When he was a bi-wig in the Guild he had baby Remy kidnaped from a New Orleans hospital so that he could "own" him. Jean-Luc kidnaped him away from the Velvet Ministry, where the Antiquary kept his children and women, giving the child to Fagan's mob for safe keeping until Antiquary was exiled. Jean-Luc excommunicated the Antiquary and he is now housed in Moscow. His museum, The Velvet Ministry, still located in New Orleans, was turned into a vampire coven for a while by Francois Chicault. The vampires were removed and the museum is now protected by Minister Horde and Minister Tome of the guild.

Character Summary Gambit and Belladonna were best friends ever since they met at eight years old. After Remy's adoption into the Thieves Guild the plan for the two to marry was quickly put into play. They married at 18 even though Belladonna's brother Julien disagreed, wanting his sister for himself. Gambit was forced to kill her brother and Gambit was exiled, leaving his new wife behind. Belladonna showed up later at the X-men mansion, with new powers she did not possess before, demanding her husband help with the Brood that attacked the guilds. She was assumed dead, after saving Ghost Rider, but later was found alive in a coma-like state. Remy risked his life to give her the elixir of life and keep her alive. When she awoke from the elixir she found herself in a state of amnesia. She blamed Remy for her state and attacked him several times until she regained her memory and realized that she still loved Remy. She used the New Sun's contract of murder on Gambit as an excuse to get close to him. They reconciled as friends, even though she wanted more. On the other hand, after the dual between his son, Julien, and Remy that resulted in Julien's presumed death Marius demanded that Remy be killed, but exile was the agreement. Character Summary Candra was an External and a telekinetic that held the rank of Benefactress to the Guilds of New Orleans. She supplied the Thieves with the elixir of life and the Assassins with the elixir of power. She has met up with Gambit on many occasions and in many different points in his life. The first time we saw them together was when Gambit wanted the elixir of life to save his wife, Bella Donna. In the process Gambit destroyed the bond between Candra and the Guilds angering the External. For revenge Candra used Bella Donna, who had amnesia, to attack Gambit and attempt to create a new contract with the Guilds, but failed. Later, when the Nightman came into the Marvel Universe, Candra contacted Remy to help fight against her mother, Rhiannon. It all turned out to be a plot to get Remy’s heart so she could return to the Ultraverse, again, she failed. It was also revealed through stories of Remy's past they met up in Paris during his cousin Etienne's rite of passage. Candra turned both of them over to The Pig. They also met when Gambit went back in time to the 1890's. There has also been mention several times of a love affair that occurred between the two, but no elaboration. She was finally taken out when she attacked the X-men looking for a stone that Storm had stolen years before as a child. The stone held Candra's life force which was destroyed by Cyclops.

Remy ran into Constrictor first when he was trying to save Sabretooth, who's adamantium based skeleton was failing. A deal was struck between parties. Remy saved a Mafia leader by removing glass from his stomach lining, Constrictor gave up his adamantium coils, Constrictor got his lifelong friend, Mary, Sabretooth got the adamantium for his skeleton, which was installed by Sinister and Daredevil got the heart for his friend the Judge. In return for this setup Remy got the device he needed to make sure Professor X was not turning on the X-men as Onslaught, again. Later, Constrictor was hired to kill Remy in the Assassination game with his newly aquired vibranium coils.

While they both worked for New Sun, Courier became Remy's partner in crime on any mission New Sun sent him on even after they began untrusting of New Sun. On a trip back in time to the 1800's Jake was turned into a female form by Sinister on accident and he has not been able to change back to his normal male form since. At the same time, Jacob's mutant ability was passed on to Sinister giving him his morphing ability he has today. Taking up her father's profession she made a rich businessman, Martin Herzog, fall in love with her so she could steal the "l'étoile du tricherie" (no 'r' Marvel!), a very rare and expensive necklace. Remy was sent to retrieve this necklace for the Guild. A young teenage Remy decieded to charmed her into falling in love with him to steal the necklace for fun. Unknown to him, Sabretooth was hired by Mr. Herzog to retrieve the necklace from Genevieve as well. Gambit managed to steal the necklace but Sabretooth killed Genevieve and threatened to kill Henri, Remy's brother, to get the necklace from Remy.

Character Summary Daredevil is a blind man and lawyer from the Marvel Universe who doubles as a superhero. Due to his blindness his four remaining senses are heightened far beyond human levels. Daredevil and Gambit worked briefly back during the Tree of Knowledge series. Later, they worked together against Constrictor when it was believed he stole the artificial organ meant for Judge Buechler, a mentor of Matt's. In the end of the whole ordeal, Remy made it where they all got what they wanted and they parted ways.

Remy charmed her while she was trying to arrest him, and got away, promising to give her a 'bigger fish'. He handed over the information on Yukio's hiest of jewels, leading to her arrest. Alexandra made detective for the arrest and was killed years later while on an undercover job. The murder of Alexandra and four other woman were pinned on Wolverine by Arcade and Mastermind II. Later it was found out that Arcade was the one that killed the women, not Logan.

Character Summary Not much has been said about Remy's past relationship with DeLuc. Gambit and DeLuc worked together in a diner in Arizona, where Grey Crow, AKA Scalphunter, also worked. This was before the massacre happened. During her first appearance she was shown working in the same diner. Later, it was said that they were lover's and that Remy was 'jailbait' when they were together, even though that does not fit in the math. As to how they came together or broke apart is a mystery still.

Character Summary Deadpool is a crazy assassin for hire that went nuts after being cured from cancer and disfigured by Weapon X. The project removed his cancer and healed him with his new healing factor, but the process disfigured his skin. The transformation drove him completly nuts. He was one of the many assassins hired to kill Remy and the only one that Gambit said 'screw it' and paid off, knowing he would be killed by Deadpool if he didn't. Remy wrote him a check for several million dollars, which Deadpool turned around and tore up thinking it was useless, and then dug out the scotch tape when he found out it wasn't.

Character Summary Carl Denti is a federal agent that was once known as the X-cutioner. A "superhero" out to avenge his partner's death by killing mutants for justice. He had his eyes set on Gambit for a while, even sending out his goons Jack "Fireballs" Farley and Maria Ellenthrope after him. When the mission failed Carl killed them both so they could not tell anyone his real identity. Watching Remy more closly he realizied Remy was not a bad guy. He changed his ways and gave up the X-cutioner alter-ego, which was later picked up by New Sun. Carl Denti helped Remy when there was a head hunt out for him. He also saved Remy and Bella Donna from being arrested after a building collapsed on them. Remy never knew that Carl Denti was the X-cutioner, that secret has been kept under wraps so far.
