The Marvel 70th Anniversary Card Set are not out yet, but sketch
card images are already leaking out. There release date is slated for the
end of March, of course that normally changes. Marvel 70th Anniversary
trading cards will cover the major storylines in the Marvel Universe over
the past 70 years. From the Golden Age through to the Modern age of comics.
The artists commissioned for this project can pretty much choose anyone
from the Marvel Universe.

For these sketch cards, Marvel/Rittenhouse commissioned over
98 artists. Each artist is sent blank cards, but they did not have to complete
all of them, nor did Marvel have to use all of them. They are hired to
draw characters from the Marvel Universe on each card any way they want.
They were not limited to a character or a medium, anything goes. The only
requirement is that they are approved for release (so no kinky stuff).
If they are approved for release they are cut to size and placed in a pack
for a lucky collector to find.

The artist also recieved a small amount
of Artist's Proof that they could use for commission works and sell or
auction off after they were approved. This card set actually marks them
on the front of the card in this series instead of just a different color
back/front.

There is a master list of Artists that
have been comissioned for the job, so far. This list may be changed, it
is still early enough for artists to drop out or to be added to the list.
Some artists may turn in cards and have none approved as well. Here is
the list as it stands now.
